It invites Marsha to share her favorite themes and subjects, as well as her process for Infrared Photo's. My passion lies in the expression through original Infrared photography.  

Infrared (IR) photography is indeed a fascinating genre of photography that offers a unique perspective on the world by capturing light that is not visible to the human eye. The colors you see in IR images are a result of the camera's interpretation of infrared light, which is beyond the typical red, green, and blue (RGB) spectrum.

Infrared photography uses a specialized camera or a camera that has been modified to be sensitive to infrared light, or by using infrared filters that block visible light and only allow infrared wavelengths to reach the sensor. The colors are not "real" in the sense that we don't naturally perceive the world in those hues, but they are real in the sense that they represent the way the camera captures and translates the infrared information into a visual format.

The color palettes in IR images are often quite distinctive, with vegetation appearing bright and foliage sometimes looking almost glowing, due to the high reflectivity of infrared light by chlorophyll in plants. Skies can become darker and more dramatic, and water and metal surfaces may appear different as well. This is because the sensors in the cameras are typically more sensitive to certain wavelengths of light, and the software or in-camera processing translates these differences into colors that we can appreciate.
